Welcome
Set on the banks of the magnificent Mawddach Estuary, six miles
inland of Barmouth. The George III Hotel has eleven
en-suite rooms and character bars and lounge.
This 1650 building was originally two dwellings - a ship chandlers
serving the flourishing boat building industry, and a pub.
Now under local management, the hotel offers excellent food sourced
as locally as possible. Specialities include Meirionnydd Mountain
Lamb and Berwyn Bred Welsh Black Beef, as well as locally bred
pork and a range of fresh fish as available.
We are open throughout the year for accommodation, morning coffee,
lunches and snacks, afternoon teas and evening meals.

“Then come who pine for peace and pleasure,
Away from counter, court and school,
Spend here your measure of time and treasure,
And taste the treats of Penmaenpool.”
Gerard Manley Hopkins
